The Business Need for Creativity

Dr Mark Batey speaking to Emirates News about the business need for creativity

As the world becomes an increasingly fast-paced and complex environment within which to live and work, we need to find new and exciting ways of doing things in order to progress and develop. Creativity is a skill that can help to achieve this.

By using me2, we can learn to understand our creative thinking styles and processes, and learn to harness a skill that traditional learning techniques and office environments typically suppress. At the individual level, we can learn what helps us to be creative, at the team level we can work together more effectively for combined creative thinking and for the organisation, we can work towards a complete culture of creativity.

Psychometrics Measuring Creativity

me2 Measures Creativity Graphic

Research by Dr Mark Batey on a range of the most common personality tests suggests that other measures only predict between 3-14% of the variance in creativity. The research studies demonstrated that the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI), the Big Five and the Hogan Development Survey could predict no more than 14% of the variance.
